ERW = Electric Resistance Welded ERW THIS TYPE OF PIPE IS MADE BY WELDING TWO PIECES OF STEEL TOGETHER. It utilizes electricity in order to heat the edges of steel to such a degree that they can be fused together. It is this welding process that leads to the formation of ERW pipes. In contrast, "seamless" pipes consist of a single solid piece of steel. First, the steel is granulated or sliced and then heat-treated, after that it is squeezed to mold a continuous tube free of seams or joints. It means that there are no vulnerable joints in the case of seamless pipes.

What is the reason for choosing one type of pipe over the other? While both ERW and seamless pipes have their merits, they also come with risks.     Well, let's discuss the production process of these two types of pipes. Making ERW pipe starts with rolling steel into a flat sheet. That flat sheet is then rolled into a tube shape. Following that, the sides of the sheet are joined along and with electrical currents so that they take on a final shape as pipe. After the welding is complete, the new pipe will be pressure tested to ensure it is up to all safety standards. It is extremely critical to test the pipe and make sure it is safe for use.

    But the process is different for seamless pipes. The steel is first placed in a furnace tempered to extreme temperatures until it is soft and ductile. Then, it is processed into a tubular form through the hot rolling process. This method produces an uninterrupted bone tube without seams. Once the pipe is formed, it are then also tested for defects and found to be safe for usage. The quality control process guarantees that the seamless pipe will seamlessly work with its intended applications.
